Would you buy a Kia K5?

@Pax
I mean cars are just to get me from point A to B, 35k on that is way better than paying anything more.

@Pax
My dream car is an EV6. It costs three times as much as the brand new 20k$ Leaf we are picking up this week, though.

If money weren’t an option, what would be your dream car? All maintenance, repairs, actual price is out the door and not a factor. Your insurance is covered paid in full for the next 5 years or until you dump the car for something else. Age of the car is not a factor either, it’s been maintained by the absolute best. It has less than 100 miles on the odometer. You are not responsible for a PENNY. Even if you wreck it, nothing happens to you or your driving history.

You’re still going with the EV6?

@Pax
Volvo V90 T8. But the EV6 is still in the picture. It just drives formidably well, is very spacious and sensible, and offers most things I want from a car. The Volvo is too expensive to even consider for me. I could afford it, but I wouldn’t want to.

@Pax
You’re pathetic. Shut the fuck hp.

@Jo
I asked because I like to hear people’s opinion and thoughts, regardless of what people say I’m still purchasing that K5. I just like to hear peoples thoughts.

Everything you said was 100% why I’m purchasing a K5, had a Kia since 2015, it’s only right to get another!

@Bela
I have a K5 GT AWD and I have zero complaints.
I traded my Genesis G80 for it.
Drove it cross country. Lots of room, drives great, etc.
Lease is up, and the only reason I’m leaning away from Kia is the insurance challengesz

@Zeek
A slight clarification, you have a GT line K5 as the GT does not have an available AWD option. I think any car enthusiast would think the GT would be an appealing sports sedan if the full power of the GT could be out to the ground via all 4 wheels.

@Luca
If they had a RWD K5 GT, I would have been all over it even though the whole point of me buying a K5 Gt-Line was specifically because my other two vehicles are gas guzzlers and I wanted something sporty looking but still economical.

@Luca
That would be the Stinger and it sold so badly the discontinued it. Though I think the reason was pricing more than anything. If they were to take the Stinger, drop the V6, make the GT-Line the 1.6T/AWD and the GT the 2.5/AWD and price about $20K lower it would never be in stock.

Kia has 2 cars that are too close, they just need to mash them together.

@Zeek
What made you trade in the luxury version of the stinger for the k5? I drive a stinger and as much as I love the look of the k5, I can’t help but think it’s just the economy version of it.

@Jo
I totally agree with you on everything, and honestly drives me crazy the fact that my GT doesn’t have wireless Car Play

Get a wireless CarPlay adapter!

how does one get this

Seems to be one of their less issue prone models. The largest thing I’ve seen happen is the blower motor multi-fuse will burn up, requiring the front harness to be replaced. Only seen it once personally, but have heard other techs run across it in the past.

@Cameron
I agree. K5 is a Kia model that has little to no issues. When I see a K5 having issues, it’s very minor.

I just got a k5 2022 LX I believe. Do y’all have any issues with the car at 70-80 miles and feeling like the wind is pushing the car or like lack of full control ? Idk how to really explain it, maybe a wobbly sensation
I recently got an alignment and new tires

But this is Kia we’re talking about, so give it a few years. They like to give their techs job security. :innocent:

@Cameron
It’s Kia but it’s been a damn good one, not sure how many years we have to wait to know this.

Love my K5. So yes i would and did

No directly injected turbo engines for me. The cylinder pressures scared me off.

GDI already generates way more fuel pressure than a port fuel injected engine. Then adding a turbo… damn.

Picked up a new 2023 4runner just in time before they start putting turbos in there too for EPA regulations. Hope to get 300k out of her. PFI engine.

I also own a 2022 Kia Telluride SX which has a GDI, love the car but I would not have gotten it if it had a turbo on there in addition to the GDI. Have 2 kids.
