Stinger GT2 to 2025 K5 GT

Has anyone gone from a Stinger GT2 to a K5 GT with GT1 package?

Curious to know peoples thoughts and how things compare such as the bose audio system vs the Harmon kardon found in the Stinger.

Do you miss the HUD and ambient lighting or does the panoramic sunroof, bigger screen, wireless carplay and digital key make up for it?

My friend has the Stinger Tribute. I have the K5 GT. The Stinger is better quality and more fun to drive. The K5 performance is the power of a Stinger GT Line with less handling and stability. The K5 is never meant to be a performance sedan or vehicle. It’s a cool grocery getter. The Stinger is a performance vehicle and is felt. Do I wish I had a Stinger over the K5? Absolutely. I’ll take more car over technology when it comes to driving any day.

I don’t care what anyone says, I wish the GT version had different engine options, then the EX could be the normal 4 cylinder luxury style version. The GT should have the V6 option that the stinger had. I love the look of the K5, if I could have a twin turbo V6 in it I would buy in a heartbeat.

You have a double clutch tranny tho, i think that’s a win-win. Ill choose instantaneous shifting any day

Everything you said is absolutely right. The decisions over at Kia seem unfinished complete thoughts. Yes, the GT should have had the V6 and the EX trim actually making it feel worth its price.

I know a lot of people were upset too that you’re not able to choose AWD versus FWD, I understand the 4-cylinder FWD because it’s very fuel efficient and I definitely love my car for it. For reference I have a 2023 K5 EX. Don’t give me wrong it’s a nice daily driver and I really love the look of it. I would really love to see Kia come out with a actual sports sedan and the K5 has the perfect look for it. They actually used to have a V8 engine called the Kia K900, they need to bring these v6s and v8s back I would love if they would kind of have a little bit of everything for everyone, they have EVs, the EXs could technically be the luxury version in the GTs could be the sports sedan that everyone is looking for.

I’ve always thought about engine swapping my K5 just to have fun with it and twin turbo it. They actually just came out with more mods for it recently, I’ve been seeing tunes and such.

The GT just isn’t really worth it in my opinion, it’s like an extra hundred horsepower sure it’s an extra liter two but it’s just not worth it for the price increase.

When you could literally just twin turbo, get a bigger turbo, get a cold air and take, tune etc and match or pass the GT.

It was funny, I was talking to my Kia rep and they said they killed the stinger for the electric EV6, And that was their sports line apparently. From what I heard the EV6 isn’t supposed to stick around but I guess we’ll see.
