I’m looking for recommendations on the best power modifications for my 2022 Kia K5 GT. I’d like to find a balance between cost and performance. What do you suggest?

I believe the best “mod” for this car would be to get the stickiest tires possible to help maximize its traction and put its power to the ground.

Absolutely, I agree with you.

Absolutely, this is spot on… The GT already comes with more power than it can handle. I find myself squealing the tires far too often—it’s almost comical how frequently it happens

Just be smoother with the accelerator, right? I haven’t accidentally chirped the tires on this car yet. Although, I do still get caught off guard by the little spins it does around 30 mph sometimes, haha

Here are some recommended upgrades:

  1. BMS Pedal Tuner: This mod helps eliminate the sluggish throttle response common with the 2.5T, giving you a more responsive driving experience.

  2. JB4 Tuner: With this tuner, you can increase your boost to 20 PSI, provided you use 93 octane gas. This will deliver a significant horsepower boost.

  3. K&N Cone Filter: Since you’ll be running higher boost levels, it’s essential to have a filter that allows for better airflow, and a K&N cone filter is ideal for this purpose.

  4. Upgraded Tires: As mentioned earlier, getting better tires is crucial. High-performance tires will improve traction and overall handling.

How much horsepower are you gaining with those mods?

There isn’t a dyno nearby, so I haven’t had the chance to get the car on the rollers yet. However, I can confidently say that it’s significantly faster than it was in its stock form.

I’ll soon use my Dragy to get some 1/4 mile times with the car.

Currently, I’m running the JB4 Map 3 tune (21 PSI boost) and mixing E85 with 93 octane pump gas to achieve a 95.5 octane E25 fuel blend (25% ethanol).

Hey bro, that’s cool! I have a GT-Line right now, but I’m trying to get a GT soon . I’m still deciding whether to mod it or not because I’m worried it might mess things up or affect the reliability. Have you had any issues with your mods? And how many miles does your car have, bro?

No issues whatsoever. I bought the car new, and it currently has 1,300 miles on it.
