2025 GT1 Misses

One month in on my 2025 K5 GT1 in matte gray (previous Optima SXL owner). While the car drives beautifully, it has some misses that I’ll likely learn to deal with.

  • No AWD (which just seems odd)
  • No interior LEDs
  • Despite matte gray paint, why have several shiny chrome parts? (future chrome delete, but would have been nice on stock)
  • Limited green accents with brakes and seat/door stitching only. No green unlocked color option in nav, black stitching on the floor mats, black seatbelts, stitching on shifter and dashboard are all black, nothing on the steering wheel – lots of “why not?”)
  • Leans a bit on corners for being “sport tuned” (likely solved with a future upper strut bar)
  • Odd that Kia didn’t hype up the GTs with an available matte green color for the enthusiast crowd
  • GT logo on the back is pretty understated and looks like they just cut off “Line” from the similar GT Line logo. Would have loved to see this in green to stand out.
  • GT1 should have the autodimming mirror as stock. Easy to add, but another missing item.

Feel free to agree or disagree. Still, I do love my GT1. Best car I’ve ever owned.

Yeah it’s a great car but missing a few things for sure.

It’s also a Kia and not an Audi or whatever so I guess it comes with the territory.

My 24 GT has LED inside. I replaced the dumb GT badge with the older/Stinger version.

I threw a nice strut brace on my 23 GT1 and some 15mm spacers. Thing is a total go cart now. No lean at all. Also custom made some larger GT emblems for rear and front wings (adds much needed “hey!”)

Their excuse for no awd on the gt before is it would compete too closely to the stinger, now there’s no stinger so there’s really no reason other than laziness for no awd

I don’t think that was Kias excuse more than it’s just something people say
