Psa 🗣️ chrome delete problem

Hello, homies. I wanted to let you know if you’re thinking about getting a chrome deletion on the chrome window strip. Make sure they aren’t utilizing 3M brand gloss black vinyl. It’s been on here for about 3 1/2 years, and it’s turned to garbage. Cracked, dry, faded, and corroded below for an additional bit of bull. :poop:. If you find your wrap fading, I recommend removing it ahead of time to avoid the experience I just had.

Most vinyl is only good for 3-5 years if outside. This is normal, remove and replace or paint.

okay i had a feeling that was also the case, i always assume nothing should last forever. but my guy that wrapped it was completely shocked that it happened, claimed he’d never seen it happen until he used this particular wrap. just wish he would’ve given me a lifespan on it lol i also could’ve done more research when getting it done i guess

Yeah I was about to say the same. If you get more than 3 years out of any wrap that’s impressive

What would be a better alternative to this material?

i’ve heard good things about Avery brand. 3M had a production problem a while ago, the adhesive was flawed. they’ve claimed to have corrected it but you never know if someone has a flawed roll still in circulation

Hyperdip Glossy Black, tape off car with newspaper. Product has held up for years now it looks exactly like day one. I also blacked out my emblems and it hasn’t come off / chipped anything.
