Looking for tune suggestions

Any tunes available for 25 k5 gt other than jb4? Just installed my intake and bov and was told I need a tune to fix it

Forgot to mention I need to get rid of the check engine light

Nice setup. What intake and BOV did you choose?

Sxth element

I’m about to get a k5 GT myself and was curious about tuning. What changes did it make to your car and how much did it cost?

Haven’t changed much performance-wise, just installed a cold air intake, BOV, and inlet pipe from the same shop. Total cost around 1k and 150 for installing. Interested in cosmetics too, just let me know

@Nova
Yes, please tell me everything. I also like the black stripe. What do the cold intake, BOV, and inlet pipe do?

Mainly adds some cool sounds. No huge gains but maybe 10-30hp with everything combined, if I had to guess. The stripe cost 540 and goes to the back of the car, chrome delete was 340, door handles 200, reflective white calipers 400, and around 750 for tint (F1 ceramic all around) with 50% on the windshield and 15% on everything else. Front lip and side skirts were 350, and I added a wing for 100 from ebay.

@Nova
That sounds cool, but that stripe must definitely add 10 more horsepower!

@Nova
That stripe is nice. I’m considering getting my k5 ceramic coated; should I put the stripe on before or after?

Definitely put it on before. The shop I went to ceramic coated the stripe and everything else, adding extra protection, though not necessary.

@Nova
Did you get the front lip and side skirts online?

Yes, I got them from KDM accessories.

I’m glad you shared that site; it seems like some items weren’t updated yet. Did you get your spoiler from there (2021-2024) and did it fit?

@Kai
What do you mean? No, I got it from ebay, there’s a link somewhere in this thread.

Check out Lap3usa.com, sxth elements, and Torkmotorsports.net. Tork motorsports uses sxth tuning system but has more options. It’s pricey for their standalone. Ksrperformance.com might have something too; they have full bolt-ons for k5.

You may want to skip the dyno tune for this car. JB4 should do just fine on its own. JB4 or BOV can trigger a check engine light (not totally sure about the JB4, might need to connect with the vendor for more info depending on the map). Have you checked for codes?

@Leif
I don’t have a JB4 and was planning to get it, but I heard it won’t fix the check engine light caused by the BOV. I don’t really know what codes mean.

You should find out what the codes mean - consider getting an OBD reader tool. BOV is likely the cause of the code. If you’re set on having it and there’s no solution, you might just live with it for the sound. JB4 is meant for OTS tuning of engine power and torque, so you’re correct that it won’t fix any existing codes or check engine lights.
