Kia Navigation System Not Working Right

My Kia navigation system keeps sending me to places that are not right. It will take me a street away or even around the corner from the address I put in. Sometimes it suggests a longer route than my Google Maps and I still end up far from where I wanted to go. How can I fix this?

One time I entered my home address and I had to double-check it. It was trying to send me to a different state. I looked at the address again and it was still wrong.

I know I can use my phone with Apple CarPlay, but I don’t want to.

No, but I will check that out. Thanks!

You really shouldn’t rely on the navigation system that comes with the car. It’s not the best. Just use CarPlay or Android Auto like most people do. Why would you trust software from a car company? They struggle to make cars that work well.

It’s like using Ask Jeeves through Bing.

This person gets it.

This sounds like a comment from someone who hates Kias.

This isn’t about hating Kia. The default navigation in any car isn’t great. That’s why all car makers offer CarPlay and Android Auto now.

I find the Kia navigation works well for me. It might not be as quick as Google, but for road trips, it is nice. I like it better because I don’t lose cell signal or data on remote highways.

It has worked for me many times in several states when I was dropping off food. I also used the navigation when my phone had no service at all. Maybe yours just needs an update or it’s the area that gives it trouble. But Kia has updated their maps recently and I haven’t noticed any wrong directions compared to Apple Maps or Waze.
