I recently bought a used 2023 Sportage Hybrid that isn’t a plug-in, and I keep getting a message saying that the connected routing will be disabled unless I update the navigation system. So, I decided to try the update.
My update just won’t go past a certain point, no matter how long I wait or how many times I try. I first left it on with the engine running, checking it often to keep it from shutting off, but that didn’t help. Then I let it shut off overnight, and when I turned the car on in the morning, it started the update from the beginning and got stuck again. I even reset the infotainment system before I tried updating, but the same issue happened.
Is this a known problem, or does anyone know how to fix it?

Are you doing an OTA update, or are you using a USB stick for the update?
I’m using a USB.
What format is the USB? Is it FAT32, exFAT, etc.? How big is it? It sounds odd, but some systems need a very specific kind, like USB 2.0 and certain formats.
Every update I’ve done takes at least two hours. It looks like it freezes sometimes. Try formatting the drive, then putting the update back on it and checking for file system errors.
Hey, how long did your unit eventually take to finish the update? I’m in the same situation. My system freezes at the same point. It says the update will keep going even if the vehicle is off, so I clicked the update button this morning around 11 and checked again at 3:30 PM. The system just restarted from the beginning and got stuck at the same point.
@Jess
I think I had an issue because I was using a microSD with a USB adapter. The update software actually says not to use microSD, and I thought it might work with the adapter, but it didn’t. Once I got a standard USB, it worked.
